John F. "Jack" Piatak

John F. "Jack" Piatak, 86, of Spring Church and Portage, PA passed away on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025 at Indiana Regional Medical Center.

He was born on Dec. 17, 1938 in Portage, PA; the son of Frank and Ida (Rozak) Piatak.

Jack earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He was a life member of Portage Area Historical Society and the Portage Moose Lodge #131. He loved Pitt football and liked attending the games and the Pitt Bowl games. Jack enjoyed reading, walking, watching birds and traveling with his companion, Ramona. He will be lovingly remembered for his positive outlook and for never having a bad day in his life.

His memory will be cherished by his fiancé, caretaker and lifelong companion, Ramona Townsend of Spring Church; his daughter, Kimberly A. Dancha and husband, Andrew of Altoona; and grandchildren, Gabrielle Sukovich and husband William, and Brittany Dancha and husband Benjamin Elsenheimer.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Piatak; and a sister, Dorothy Piatak.

Friends and family will be received from 11 AM until the time of services at 1 PM on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025 at Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, 238 S. Main Street, Elderton, PA with the Pastor Doug Johnson officiating.

Interment will be in South Bend Cemetery, Shelocta, PA.
