Gary James Alcorn

Gary James Alcorn, 76, of Belknap, PA, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2025 at Quality Life Services, Sugarcreek.

He was born June 4, 1948 in Kittanning, PA, the son of James William and Laura M. (Crissman) Alcorn.

Gary was a 1966 graduate of Dayton High School and a life-long resident of the Belknap area. He was a third generation dairy farmer carrying on the tradition started by his grandfather. Gary dedicated his life to operating the family farm, Divided Ridge Dairy Farm. He was a member of the Concord Presbyterian Church, Dayton Young Farmers, and the Pennsylvania Holstein Association. Gary loved the farm, his cows and especially his family.

His memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Carol A. (Huber) Alcorn, whom he married on March 4, 1967; his children, Gwen Shoffner of Worthington, Greg (Trina) Alcorn of Moultrie, GA, Amanda (Gerry) Coon of Dayton, and David Alcorn of Belknap; grandchildren, Devlin Shoffner, Adam Coon, Austin Alcorn, Maggie Coon and Alex Alcorn; and two great-grandchildren, Blake and Brandon.

Gary is also survived by two sisters, Linda Bevill of Houston, TX and Karen (Jeff) Fisher of Kittanning and a brother, Lester D. Alcorn of New Bethlehem.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends and family will be received from 2 - 4 PM and 6 - 8 PM on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025 at the Bauer-Bly Funeral Home, 125 East Main Street, Dayton, PA.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025 at the Concord Presbyterian Church, 576 St. Route 1037, Dayton, PA 16222 with Pastor Joel Kinnard officiating.

Interment will be in Concord Cemetery, Dayton, PA.
