Wesley "Wes" Dewayne Hollingsworth, 87 of Wilmington, NC, passed away on Friday, Aug. 30, 2024 at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Wes was born on March 6, 1937 in Rimersburg, PA to Maxine Hollingsworth and was raised by his grandparents, Clayton and Erma Hollingsworth.

He graduated from Union High School in 1955 and served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1956 until 1962. He married his high school sweetheart, Helen "Sweetie" Hollingsworth and raised three children. He started working or W.T. Clark and Thomas Kennedy wiring in Rimersburg then moved his family or Rockford, IL where in 1966 he worked for Ingersoll Milling Machine Company as an assembly electrician, check-out and start-up electrician, systems engineer and field service. In 1987, Wes and his wife moved to Wilmington, NC where he worked for GE Aircraft Engine as a maintenance Technician until he retired in 2000.

He is survived by his two sons, Dennis Hollingsworth of Westland, MI; and Donald Hollingsworth of Wilmington, NC; sister, Patti Switzer of Rimersburg, PA; grandchildren, Michael Hollingsworth of Rockford, IL, Melissa Hollingsworth of Ann Arbor, MI; and Elizabeth McDuell of Minneapolis, MN and Joshua Murray of Rockford, IL; and a special nephew, David Hollingsworth and wife, Sue of Rimersburg, PA.

Wes was preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Adams) Hollingsworth who passed away January 20, 2022; a daughter, Diane Hollingsworth; grandparents Clayton & Erma Hollingsworth, his mother Maxine, a sister Janie and a brother Jack.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2024 from 6-8 PM at the Bauer Hillis Funeral Home, 758 Main St., Rimersburg, PA 16242. Additional visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 from 10 AM at the funeral home until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM with the Rev. Mark Deeter officiating.

Interment will be in the Cherry Run United Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
