Sylvia Jane Traister

Sylvia Jane Traister, 80, of Templeton, PA passed away on Monday, Dec. 23, 2024 at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born on April 13, 1944 in Lawsonham, PA; the daughter of Preston Alexander and Violet Mae (Montgomery) Craig.

Sylvia was a lifelong resident of Templeton area. She was a housekeeping supervisor for over 30 years, first at the Clarion Holiday Inn and later with the Clarion County Psychiatric Hospital. After her retirement, Sylvia was a care taker for many people.

Her memory will be cherished by her loving husband, Gary L. Traister, whom she married on June 15, 1961; her sons, Terry L. Traister and wife Mary "Toni" and Tim S. Traister and wife Debbie, all of Templeton; grandchildren, Clayton L. (Christy) Traister, Grant Traister, Katlynn A. (Anton Rearick) Traister, Jennifer (Rick) Kelly, Eric Traister, and Heather (Peyton) Herold; and great-grandchildren, Della Traister, Vincent Herold, Levi Herold, and Vanna Kelly.

Sylvia is also survived by her sisters, Faye Craig and husband Tom of New Bethlehem, Lorraine Craig and friend, Carl Shoemaker of Sandy Hollow, and Cindy Everrett and husband, Frank of Lawsonham.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Richard Craig.

Services will be private.

Interment will be in Duncan Cemetery, Templeton, PA
