H. Doris Reefer

H. Doris Reefer, age 102, of Shelocta, PA, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026 at her home.

She was born on October 28, 1923, in Kittanning Twp., Armstrong Co., PA, the daughter of James M. and Harriet (Held) Wright.

Doris was a homemaker and loved caring for her family, and was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church of Gastown.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, James G. Reefer and wife, Roberta, and Clair E. Reefer and wife, Patricia, all of Shelocta; daughter, Harriet E. Shaulis and husband, Kenneth, of Saltsburg; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Betty Wright of Ford City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 64 years, Homer Eugene Reefer, who passed away June 6, 2006; a grandson, Brian J. Chapman; a great-grandson, Anthony J. Reefer; brothers, Ralph S. Wright, Arthur J. Wright, Alvin E. Wright, Delbert M. Wright, and Lester Wright; and sisters, Isabel Ramer and Helen M. Beer.

Family and friends will gather from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at the Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, Inc., 238 S. Main Street, Elderton, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Monday, September 21, 2026 at the Clark Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Joyce Dix-Weiers, STS officiating.

Interment will follow in Atwood Cemetery, Atwood, PA.
