Thomas L. Murray, 84, of Kittanning, PA, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital in Kittanning, PA.

He was born January 19, 1940 in Johnson City, NY, the son of Thomas W. and Katherine E. (Clugston) Murray.

Thomas graduated from Shaler High School in 1957 and entered the US Air Force from 1961 to 1966. Upon returning to Pennsylvania, he served as an active duty reservist from 1966 to 1970 and also worked as a flight line lead mechanic as a civilian employee at McGuire Air Force Base. Thomas greatly enjoyed his time in the Air Force. In 1976, he began working in sales at Paul's Auto Parts in Ford City, a position he held for 29 years until his retirement. He was a member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and enjoyed photography. Thomas also liked ice skating and flying remote control airplanes with the Armstrong County RC Flyers group.

His memory will be cherished by his sister, Elizabeth Grow, of Narvon, PA; nieces, Karen Renfer, of Evans City, and Laura Dederer and husband, Jeff, of Valencia; and a nephew, Brad Grow and wife Patty of Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Dr. Marian A. Murray and Katherine Renfer.

Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024 at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 North McKean St., Kittanning, PA.

A Funeral Mass will take place at 10 AM on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2024 at St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 101 W. High St., Kittanning, with The Very Reverend Eric J. Dinga, V.F. as celebrant.

Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Kittanning, PA where military honors will be presented by the American Legion Honor Guard.
