Kathryn Ann Cox

Kathryn Ann "Kathy" Cox, 79, of Kittanning, PA, passed away on Friday, Aug. 2, 2024 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital in Kittanning, PA after a long courageous battle with lung disease.

She was born on July 21, 1945 in Kittanning, PA, to Harold and H. Marie (Maxeiner) Salsgiver.

Kathy graduated from Kittanning High School and was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Kittanning. She was taught the art of sewing by her mother and her talent for tailoring and design was evident in the countless garments and items she created over the years. Some of her cherished projects were the clothes she crafted for Cabbage Patch dolls, clothes she made for her children, and many other popular items. Kathy also had a love for woodworking, arts, and crafts. Her creativity knew no bounds, and she often sold her beautiful creations to help support her family. Kathy's quilts, each one a masterpiece of love and skill, were especially treasured. She took immense pride in knowing that her handmade items had found homes, one as far away as India. Kathy's greatest pride and joy was her family and she loved and treasured the time spent with them.

She is survived by her three sons, Donald P. Cox, Jr. and wife, Missy of Georgetown DE, Scott A. Cox and wife, Bobbi of Kittanning, and Randal E. Cox and wife, Cassandra of Ford City; grandchildren, Austin B. Cox and wife, Zoe and Brooklyn D. Croyle and husband, Zac; great-granddaughter, Scarlett Cox; great-grandson, Dane Croyle; and her brother Denny Salsgiver and wife, Norma of Lower Burrell; and her sister-in-law, Bonnie Salsgiver of Sarver.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Donald. P. "Don" Cox, whom she married on Sept. 6, 1963 and who passed away on Nov. 1, 2021; and a brother Jim Salsgiver.

Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 PM on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2024 at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, Pa.

Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 5 2024 at the Bauer Funeral Home.

Interment will be in Kittanning Cemetery, Kittanning, Pa.
