Elizabeth A. Hollenbaugh

Heaven gained a new and special angel on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024, when Elizabeth A. Hollenbaugh of Dayton, PA, passed away peacefully after 88 wonderful years.

She was born September 2, 1935, in Smithtown, Long Island, NY, to Arthur Phillip and Mary Nancy (Arcuri) Sanders.

Elizabeth moved to the Dayton area in 1989 and was a longtime member of the Dayton United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She directed the Dayton Children's Choir for a number of years and enjoyed sharing her love of music with the kids.

Her memory will be cherished by her son, Patrick P. Hollenbaugh of Dayton, PA and his former wife, Rosalie and their son, Nicholas A. Hollenbaugh of Virginia; her daughters, Shirley M. Cummings and Mary Joann Hollenbaugh, both of Dayton, PA; granddaughter, Crystal M. Nelson and husband, Ricky and their children Braden X. Jiminez and Aria J. Nelson of Arizona; a brother, Donald A. Sanders and wife, Nola, of Washington State.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 59 years, Franklin J. Hollenbaugh, whom she married on January 5, 1952 and who passed away on July 16, 2011; son, Franklin A. Hollenbaugh; brothers, Arthur Philip Sanders and Francis H. Sanders; and sisters, Mary Ann N. Estes, Winifred E. Perman and Phyllis M. Mason

A memorial service will be held at Dayton Methodist Church at a later date.
