Edna G. (McCollim) Frantz Wells

Mrs. Edna G. (McCollim) Frantz Wells, 104, of Cabot, PA formerly of Elderton, PA., passed away on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024.

She was born on March 21, 1919 in Derry, Westmoreland Co., PA to Lawrence H. and Maude E. (Shomo) McCollim.

Edna was a member of the Elderton Presbyterian Church, Elderton American Legion Auxiliary Post #918 and Elderton Fireman's Auxiliary. She was employed as a teller and assistant bookkeeper for 21 years at the Elderton State Bank until her retirement in 1990 and previously worked as a secretary at the Elderton Joint High School from 1952 until 1966. She also served for many years as an auditor for Elderton Borough until resigning in 1991.

Her memory will be cherished by her daughters, Diana Kaye Crownover, of Lower Burrell and Patricia S. Throckmorton and husband Robert, of Ford City; four grandchildren, Pamela S. Varney, Melissa J. Richard and husband Fran, Christopher S. Throckmorton, and Lauren A. Noullet and husband Christopher; seven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Joseph L. Frantz, who she married Feb. 17, 1941 and who died Sept. 5, 1951; second husband, Clair L. Wells, who she married Sept. 24, 1962 and who died Aug. 20, 1970; daughter, Karen Jo Bonner; brother, W. Franklin McCollim; and sisters, Hazel I. Silvis, Mary E. Gilhousen, and Garnet A. Howard.

The family will receive friends from 1 - 4 PM on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2024 at the Clark Chapel of Bauer Funeral Home, Inc. of 238 South Main Street, Elderton, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM, on Monday, Jan. 29, 2023, at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Angel De La Cruz officiating.

Interment will be at Elderton Cemetery in Elderton, Armstrong Co., PA.

Arrangements are being handled by the Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, Inc.
