Carol Jean Stitt Kiene

Carol Jean Thompson Stitt Kiene, 86, originally of Shelocta, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 12, 2025.

She was born September 28th, 1939 at the Thompson Family farm along route 156, South Bend Township. She spent most of her life living no more than 4-5 miles from the place of her birth. Carol attended the Girty School, a one room school house. She then graduated from Elderton Highschool, class of 1957, voted "most humorous" in her senior year.

On July 15th, 1960 she married her precious and beloved sweetheart, Blaine E. Stitt, of Manor Township. Blaine died at the Keystone Power plant July 16th, 1971. They had two children, Crystal Dawn and Curtis Dean. Later she married Paul Kiene.

Carol always had a lot of friends and always had a lot of fun. She often talked of the many adventures and memories she had growing up. Carol raised both of her children in South Bend Township, and spent time creating adventures and memories with her eight grandchildren, and then was blessed with three great-grandchildren to have more adventures with.

Carol was an outdoorsy girl and was often seen outside taking care of her lawn. She read her Bible every day and was the "go to person" for prayer requests. It did not matter how big or how small, she would pray for it.
"Grandma Carol" will be greatly missed by her eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She always got down on the floor to play with them. They would often "hunt for bad guys" using toy guns. It was the safest house in the county.

Carol will always be remembered by her daughter, Crystal Flowers of Shelocta, and son Curtis Stitt (Eileen), of Lynchburg, VA; her seven grandchildren: Blaine Flowers (Mary) of Seattle, WA, Joy Bentinganan of Marion, IL, April Flowers of Shelocta, Justin Stitt (Tabitha), Jeremy Stitt, Joshua Stitt, Jaeleya Stitt, Elena Flores all of Virginia; and her great-grandchildren Aaron Gorzalski, Molly Gorzalski, and Brandon Bentinganan.

Carol was proceeded in death by her parents R. "Clair" Thompson and Margaret "Peg" (Anderson) Thompson, lifelong residents of South Bend Township; her first husband Blaine E. Stitt and second husband Paul Kiene; and sister Bette Pitzerell. She will be deeply missed by her beloved cats.

Her memory will be cherished by her family.

Friends and family will be received from 12PM until the time of the service at 2PM on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at the
Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, Inc., 238 S. Main Street, Elderton, PA with her son the Rev. Curtis D. Stitt officiating.
