David A. Ruffner
David A. Ruffner, 68, of Indiana, PA, formerly of Elderton, PA passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at his home.Born as Wilfred Bernard Rainey on Jan. 27, 1958 in West Chester, PA, David was the son of Wilfred Rainey, Joseph Edward Ruffner and Charlotte Crownover.
An Elderton High School graduate, David was previously employed as a truck driver with M&C Trucking. He also worked for Corte Masonry Supply and Taylor Trucking.
David enjoyed wrestling, trucks, and trains. He enjoyed helping his neighbors, especially by caring for their lawns. He attended Freedom Church in Indiana, PA where he looked forward to volunteering each Sunday by greeting those attending worship and handing out bulletins. David will be lovingly remembered for his kind heart, generosity, and willingness to help others.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Jennifer Price and husband William of Johnstown and Rebecca Cribbs and husband John of Butler; step-mother Jean Rainey of Downingtown, PA; four grandchildren Brianca and Nevaeh Ruffner, Vincent Price, and Grant Cribbs; siblings Patricia Ruffner and fiancé Tony Smith of Indiana, PA, Joe Rainey and girlfriend Nadine of Glenmore, PA, Patty Greenland and her husband Tim of Downingtown, PA; numerous relatives and many beloved friends that were like family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his fiancée Cindy Hartle, who passed away on March 9, 2019.
Friends will be received from 2 PM until the time of services at 3 PM on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at the Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, Inc., 238 S. Main Street, Elderton with the Pastor Kirt Anderson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Elderton Cemetery.
