Mary Ellen Blystone

Mary Ellen Blystone, 94, of Summerville,SC, formerly of DuBois, PA and Homosassa Springs, FL, peacefully returned to our Heavenly Father the morning of Tuesday July 21st 2026 at Ashley River Healthcare in Charleston, SC.

She was born February 14, 1932 in Vandergrift, PA, the daughter of Raymond Guy Camp and Flora Myrtle (Duckworth) Camp.

Mary was a resident of Summerville, SC since 2000, previously living in DuBois, PA and Homosassa Springs, FL. She dedicated her life to caring for her family and especially loved when they could all gather together to celebrate family events. She was a member of Old Fort Baptist Church in Summerville, SC. Her love for music was constant throughout her life as she always enjoyed singing and clapping along with hymns, bluegrass music, The Gaithers, Johnny Cash, and Dolly Parton. Mary loved to travel, and some of her favorite destinations were the Panama Canal, Alaska, and Hawaii. She also enjoyed riding Harley Davisons with her husband Earl and exploring the west in their motor home. Mary's sweet personality will be remembered with love by those who knew her.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen E. (Gary) Certo, of Pittsburgh, and Donna J. (James) Rook, of Summerville, SC; grandchildren, Carrie Certo, Melanie (Mike) Certo Gavin, and Diane Certo, all of Pittsburgh, and Anna (Beckett) Rice, of Summerville, SC; great-grandchildren, Aubin and Caydin Kotewicz, and Keane and Donovan Gavin; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Earl Ernest Blystone, who she married February 14, 1948 and who passed away on Nov. 8, 2016; her brothers, Kenneth, Raymond and Arnold Camp; sisters, Violet McCluskey, Gladys Rishel, Anna Foy, Martha Brown and Eleanor Wilson; and her beloved dog, Gigit.

Friends will be received from 10 AM until the time of services at 12 PM on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at the Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, Inc., 238 S. Main Street, Elderton, PA.

Interment will be in Atwood Cemetery, Atwood, PA.
