Anthony John Eisenhuth
Anthony John Eisenhuth, 82, of West Kittanning, peacefully passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026, at home surrounded by his family.Born on March 3, 1944, he was the son of the late Daniel and Amelia (Orr) Eisenhuth of East Brady, Pennsylvania.
Anthony was known by many names throughout his life. Family and friends affectionately called him Anthony, John, A.J., and Butch, each name reflecting the relationships and chapters of his life. No matter what he was called, those who knew him best will remember his quiet strength, sense of humor, and love for his family.
John was a dedicated and hardworking man whose strong work ethic was evident throughout his life. In 1964, he began delivering ice cream in Kittanning and East Brady before working at Pullman Standard, where he was employed until the plant closed in 1981. He then worked as a custodian at Lenape Vo-Tech, retiring in 2003. Never one to sit still, AJ went on to work as a corrections officer at the Armstrong County Jail for ten years, officially retiring in 2018.
On March 7, 1964, he married Patty Jean Roofner, sharing 35 years together they raised two daughters, Peggy Lou and Tammy Sue. Following Patty's passing July 6, 1999, Anthony found companionship and married Bonnie Elaine Elder on August 2, 2003. They shared 21 years together until Bonnie's passing Dec 12, 2024.
A faithful attendee of Redemption Church in Lower Burrell, Anthony found comfort and hope in God's promises. Earlier years attending Union Avenue United Methodist and serving as Sunday School Superintendent, one of his favorite hymns was "Mansion Over the Hilltop," a song that reminded him of the eternal home awaiting believers. While his family will deeply miss him, they find peace in knowing that he is now in that heavenly mansion, reunited with loved ones who have gone before him and resting in the presence of his Lord and Savior.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Tammy Titus, husband, Brad; son-in-law, Roger Reitler, wife, Michelle; grandsons, John Robert Titus and Matthew John Reitler, wife, Autumn; his great-grandson, Callum Stone Reitler; Sister-in-laws, Shirley Wilson and Judy Oddo; and his beloved cats, Lucky and Chris.
In addition to his parents and wives, Anthony was preceded in death by his daughter, Peggy Reitler who passed February 12, 2012; infant son, John Eric; brother, Edward Eisenhuth; and sister, Gloria Hutchison.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff of Concordia Home Health and Good Samaritan Hospice for the exceptional care, kindness, and compassion shown to Anthony and his family over the last few months. Their support and dedication brought comfort during a difficult time and will always be deeply appreciated.
Friends and family will be received from 3 - 6 pm with the funeral service beginning at 6:00pm, Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 North McKean Street, Kittanning, PA., with Pastor Fred Neal of Redemption Church officiating.
