Carol Dee Townsend

Carol Dee Townsend, 81, of Spring Church, PA, died Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Indiana Regional Medical Center.

She was born January 5, 1944 in Indiana, PA, the daughter of Edgar Adair Moorhead and Marian Kathryn (Miller) Moorhead.

Carol was a lifetime resident of the area and was a member of St. Jacob's United Church of Christ. She worked at Woolworth's in Indiana where she met her husband, Bill, and they married on September 27, 1969. Carol later worked at Fisher Scientific for six years and at the Meadows. Taking care of her family was her passion and she was known for being an outstanding cook. Carol will be best remembered for being a loving wife and mother.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Scott W. Townsend, of Spring Church; daughter, Heather R. Boyer and husband, Clint, of Spring Church; brother, Irwin "Butch" Moorhead and wife, Shirley, of Glendale, AZ; sisters, Judith Fancella and husband, Arthur, of Indiana, PA., and Linda Winkle and husband, Harold, of Monaca, PA; and brother-in-law, Gene Lyons, of Wauchula, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William R.B. "Bill" Townsend, who passed away on May 28, 2023; sisters, Sandra Lyons and Beverly Moorhead; and brother, Edgar Moorhead.

Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at the Clark Chapel Funeral Home, 238 S. Main Street, Elderton with the Rev. Arlene Schweitzer officiating.

Burial will be in South Bend Cemetery, Shelocta, Pennsylvania.
