Nancy J. Fleming
Nancy J. Fleming, 84, of Shelocta, PA, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2025 surrounded by her family.She was born on Jan. 24, 1941 in Kittanning to William and Sarah (Shotts) Edwards.
Nancy grew up in the Clayhole neighborhood of Kittanning. She graduated from Kittanning School in 1959. She loved to hang out at the Cadet Restaurant and roller skating at Cicero's Skating Rink where she met her husband, Dale L. Fleming, whom she married on May 20, 1960. Dale preceded her in death on June 21, 2013.
Nancy worked at Laurie's Market in Kittanning until she married Dale and moved to Shelocta to help with the Fleming farm, selling eggs and caring for her late mother-in-law.
Nancy loved her Friday shopping days with her sisters, bowling with a league in both Indiana and Kittanning. She loved NASCAR! Nancy loved watching and attending the races with Dale and their close friends at Charlotte Speedway.
Her memory will be cherished by her sons, David Fleming and Brian (Trisha) Fleming all of Shelocta and Keith (Debbie) Fleming of Dayton; grandchildren, Lindsey M. Fleming, Kiersten D. Fleming of Kittanning, Leann (Jody) Walker and Heather (Aaron) Thomas of Dayton; great-grandchildren, Ivan Troutman, Melia Snow, Maria Burke, Ailey and Everly Pearce, Shane Bemish, Ethan, Teagan and Naysa Walker, and Maci and Adley Thomas; sisters-in-law, Lois Fleming of Kittanning and Karen S. (George) Gresock of Indiana and several nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Dale; her parents; brothers; sisters; and daughter-in-law, Kandace Altman, who died on February 23, 2025.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, 238 S. Main St., Elderton, PA.
Additional visitation will be from 12 PM until the time of funeral services at 1 PM on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at the funeral home with the Rev. Joyce Dix-Weiers, STS officiating.
Interment will be in Elderton Cemetery, Elderton, Pennsylvania.
