Guelda R. ''Tootie'' Olinger

Guelda R. "Tootie" Olinger, age 95, of Kittanning, PA died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 15, 1929 in Madison Township, Armstrong County, PA to Homer Ramsey and Vaunda (Browell) Ramsey.

Guelda was a lifetime resident of the Kittanning area and a member of the Walkchalk Salem Baptist Church, where she previously served as a deacon. Guelda graduated from Kittanning High School in 1947 and then received her Bachelor's in education from Clarion College. She was employed as a teacher and taught in various elementary schools throughout the Armstrong School District for twenty-five years. She then taught for nine years at the Immaculate Conception Catholic School until her retirement in 1995. Guelda was a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association and the National Education Association. Guelda was a member of the Red Hats and she enjoyed going to the YMCA.

She is survived by her sons Todd R. Olinger of Kittanning, PA, Kurt D. Olinger and wife, Kathy, of Middletown, DE; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a sister, Darlyne R. Bonnett of Templeton, PA.

Guelda was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Rodger L. Olinger, Sr. whom she married March 21, 1953 and who died March 7, 1976 and her son, Rodger L. Olinger, Jr.

Friends of Guelda will be received from 10 AM until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 North McKean Street, Kittanning, PA with the Pastor Mike Bowser officiating.

Interment will be in the Kittanning Cemetery.
