Vida Evelyn Yount

Vida Evelyn Yount, 98, formerly of Spring Church, PA, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Crystal Waters Personal Care Home.

She was born October 12, 1926 in South Bend Twp., Armstrong Co., PA, the daughter of Duff A. and Rena L. (Scott) Rupert.

Vida graduated from Elderton High School in 1944 and was a resident of Spring Church since 1956. She was a member of St. Jacob's United Church of Christ of South Bend and enjoyed doing search-a-word puzzles. Vida loved finding bargains and often found treasures at thrift stores and rummage sales.

She is survived by her nephews, Kevin E. Rupert and wife, Paula, of Shelocta, and Gary Rupert and wife, Jodi, of Shelocta; great-nephew, Ryan S. Rupert; great-niece, Madison Rupert; and sisters-in-law, Mary Rupert and Janet Henderson.

Vida was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, L. Eugene Yount, whom she married October 24, 1956 and who died June 11, 2008; brothers, Wendell E. Rupert, Orald "Ork" Rupert and F. Vernon Rupert; and sisters, Geraldine Shutt, Goldyn Rearick, Helen Jean Rupert, Esther Kunkle, D. Wyvonne Townsend, and Ruth Weible.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at the Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, Inc., 238 S. Main Street, Elderton with the Rev. Doug Johnson officiating.

Burial will be in South Bend Cemetery, Shelocta, PA.
