Frank R. "Butch" Gibbons

Frank R. "Butch" Gibbons, Jr., 69, of Sligo, PA, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024 at his home.

He was born on June 19, 1955 in Pittsburgh, PA; the son of Mary (Justice) and Frank R. Gibbons, Sr.

Butch was a member of Grace Community Church in Curllsville. He was a true outdoorsman and lived to hunt and fish. Butch loved animals and always fed the birds and deer. He enjoyed building hot rods and rat rods and spending time with his friends. Butch especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be lovingly remembered for his love of the outdoors.

His memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Doris (Kapp) Gibbons, whom he married on June 29, 1991; his step-sons, Robert Elliott and wife, Dawn of Sligo, Ronald Elliott and wife, Hillary of New Bethlehem, Ralph Elliott Jr. and wife LeAnn of Knox, PA, and Russell Elliott of Clarion; grandchildren, Ryan and wife Ashley, Rick and fiancé Brittany, Reesie and husband Trevor, Tiffani, and Rachel; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Raydin, London, Tuff, Raven, and one on the way; and his sisters, Marcie Clark and husband Bill of Pittsburgh and Earlene "PeeWee" Hillenbrand and husband Mike of Florida.

Frank was preceded in death by parents; and a sister, Mary "Cissy" Lippert.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024 at Grace Community Church, 3225 Curllsville Rd., Curllsville, PA 16221 with Pastor Tim Shimmons officiating.
