Douglas W. Wright, 96, of Kittanning, PA, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Logan Place Senior Living Center in New Kensington.

He was born June 16, 1927 in Ford Cliff, PA, the son of Albert and Sara (Sloan) Wright.

Douglas spent his younger years in Ford Cliff and graduated from Ford City High School in 1945. He then served in the US Navy during World War II and went on to earn his Bachelor's degree in civil engineering in 1950. In 1954, Douglas began working at PPG and retired as the Director of Engineering in 1988.

He formerly lived in Fox Chapel and Sarver, and moved to Kittanning in 2014. He was a member of Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church and Grace Presbyterian Church in Kittanning. He was also active in the Kiwanis Club. Douglas loved traveling with his wife, Patricia, and spent his free time golfing.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Douglas W. Wright, Jr. and wife, Pamela, of Huntsville, AL; daughters, Pamela R. Sierra, of Andover, MA, Cynthia J. Parks and husband, Ray, of Tarentum, and Linda J. Bocchicchio and husband, Ben, of Benson, NC; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, William Cornelius, of Tennessee.

Douglas was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Patricia Ann (Yount) Wright, whom he married November 5, 1955 and who passed away on Nov. 19, 2018; daughter, Martha A. Cornelius; brothers, Harold, William, Joe, Dan and Galen Wright; and one infant sister.

At Douglas' request, services will be private.

Interment will be in Kittanning Cemetery, Kittanning, PA
