Margaret M. "Peggy" Tate

Margaret M. "Peggy" Tate, age 97, of Glenshaw, PA formerly of Kittanning, PA, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at her daughter's home in Glenshaw, PA.

She was born October 5, 1926 in Dayton, PA to Miles A. McMillen and Grace Rebecca (Martin) McMillen-Painter.

Peggy grew up on a farm and loved the farm life with her sister, Dot. She graduated in 1944 from the former Cowanshannock High School. Peggy met her future husband, Vince while working at the Schenley Distilleries. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking and baking for them. Peggy was a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts and was involved in several community services, including Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed bowling, dancing, and listening to music. In her later years, she loved word search puzzles, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.

Peggy was always a hard worker. She sold real estate for many years and managed the Towne and Country Floral and Bridal. She will be remembered for her selfless and kind spirit, always willing to help someone.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandy (Al) Saville of Glenshaw; two grandchildren, Bradley (Clare) Saville and Alison (Jeremy) Moss; great-grandson, Tate Moss; and a sister, Phyllis Adams of Kittanning.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Vincent Tate whom passed away on Feb. 8, 2009; her son, Vincent D. Tate; and a sister, Dorothy "Dot" McMillen.

Friends and family will be received from 3 - 7 PM on Friday, June 7, 2024 at the Bauer Funeral Home, 515 North McKean Street, Kittanning, PA. Rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of the blessing service at 11 AM on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the funeral home with The Very Reverend Eric J. Dinga, V.F. as celebrant.

Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, East Franklin Twp., PA.
