Virginia G. Borovatz

Virginia G. Borovatz, 97, of Kittanning, PA, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024 at her home.

She was born on Aug. 17, 1926 in Cadogan, PA, the daughter of Sebastian and Emma (Michelini) Colo.

Virginia was a lifelong resident of the Kittanning area and a devoted member of St. Mary Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. She was an active member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Legion of Mary and the Sisters of St. Joseph Auxiliary. Virginia was employed as a payroll secretary for many years with ARIN Intermediate Unit and served on the supervisory committee of the Armstrong County Federal Employee Credit Union. She was on the Board of Family Counseling and volunteered for Relay for Life and with St. Vincent DePaul. Her love and faith will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.

Her memory will be cherished by brother, Frank Colo and wife, Theresa of Ernest, PA and many loving nieces and nephews.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Albert William Borovatz, whom she married on Sept. 22, 1962 and who passed away on April 12, 2000; and her siblings, Albert (Linda) Colo, Theresa (Carmen) Gett, Guido (Sarah) Colo, Alice (William) Fusaro, Elvira (James) Zimmers, Hilda (Albert) Covolo, and Joseph (Marge) Colo.

Friends and family will be received from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at the Bauer Funeral Home, 515 North McKean Street, Kittanning, PA. Rosary will be recited at 5:30 PM.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 AM on Monday, March 4, 2024 at St. Mary's Our Lady of Guadalupe, 101 West High Street, Kittanning PA with Rev. Juanito Lozano as celebrant.

Entombment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, PA.
