Lloyd Ellsworth George
Lloyd Ellsworth George, 93, of Shelocta, PA, passed away on February 28, 2025 at his residence.He was born on Sept. 7, 1931 in Indiana, PA; the son of John R. and Myrtle A. (Smeltzer) George.
Lloyd was a lifetime resident of the Plumcreek Township area and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness of Indiana, PA. He was employed as an overhead crane operator for 16 years with Pullman Standard and also drove school bus. Lloyd enjoyed playing guitar, working on cars and his beloved cockatiel, Rex. Lloyd will be best remembered for being a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Donna Jean (King) George, whom he married on, Nov. 28, 1964; son, Michael Lloyd George of Shelocta; daughter, Judy D. Werfel and husband, Graven of Berlin, PA; grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, Michael, Felicia, Cheyenne, Corey and Lyle; and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Homer George, Sam George, and Everett George; sisters, Mildred McElhattan and Betty Blystone; and three infant siblings.
The family will receive friends from 4 PM until the time of funeral services at 6 PM on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at the Clark Chapel of Bauer Funeral Home, Inc., 238 South Main Street, Elderton, PA.
Interment will be in Elderton Cemetery, Elderton, PA.
