Wayne Henry Barker

Wayne Henry Barker, age 87, Kittanning, PA, died Friday Feb. 21, 2025 at Grey's Colonial Acres.

He was born Feb. 6, 1938 in Rayburn Twp., Armstrong Co., PA to Henry J. Barker and Rosetta M. (Luke) Barker

Wayne was a 1956 graduate of Kittanning High School and was a dedicated member of the Free Methodist Church of Kittanning where he served as treasurer, chairman of the finance committee, conference delegate and a former trustee. He was employed at Butler County Ford Dealership as an office manager from 1996 until his retirement in 2010. Wayne also was the owner of Barkers Colonial Acres Personal Care Home from 1988 until 1992.

Wayne enjoyed spending time with his siblings and their spouses. He loved family get-togethers and everyone has special memories of being together on the 4th of July. In his younger years, Wayne took great pride in caring for his home and yard. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching the western channel.

He is survived by his sons, Stephen W. Barker and wife, Sara, of Rural Valley, Michael J. Barker and wife, Melissa, of Kittanning; six grandchildren, Jacob Barker and wife Elizabeth, and Kaylene Royston and husband William; Kierstin Trainer and husband Justin, Zachary Barker and wife Briana, Seth Barker and Hannah Barker; five great-grandchildren, Cameron and Abigail Barker, Tristan and Hayden Trainer and Mason Royston; sister, Jane Smathers; and Kenneth Grey and wife Aleta.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Marian I. (Rudolph) Barker whom he married Oct. 11, 1958 and who passed away on April 11, 2020; son, Craig A. Barker who passed away Jan. 29, 2025; brother William J. Barker and sister, Ada Grey.

Family will receive friends from 1:00PM on Sunday, March 2, 2025 until the time of the funeral service at 3:00 PM at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 North McKean Street, Kittanning, PA, with the Rev. Jeremy Andrews officiating.

Interment will be at Lawn Haven Burial Estates, East Franklin Twp., Armstrong County, PA.
