Joy Dean King

Joy Dean King, 84, of Kittanning, PA, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at Quality Life Services Sugar Creek Rest in Worthington.

Joy was born on June 21, 1935 in Templeton to Fredrick Vernon and Grace L. (Anderson) Lockhart.

Joy was a member of Victory Baptist Church where she loved to sing in the choir and taught Sunday School for many years. In her earlier years she worked at Kittanning A&P and later as a dietician at Armstrong Memorial Hospital and for Butler Memorial Hospital, where she retired from in 1992. She enjoyed hunting and fishing with her boys and loved to spend time with her grandkids.

Her memory will be cherished by her loving husband, J. Franklin King; her sons, Joel King and wife, Janine of Green River, WY, Loren King and wife, Aline of Mt. Morris, Pa., Chris King and wife, Rochele of Kittanning, and Jody King and wife, Karen of Kittanning; daughters, Jacqueline Bandy and husband, John of Annapolis, MD and Kimberly Keller and husband, Calvin of Morning Sun, IA; 22 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and one sister, Peggy Jean Baum of Kittanning.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Rachel King; and a sister, Donna Mae Lockart.

Funeral services will be privately held.

Internment is in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, East Franklin Township, Pa.
