Doris Ann Krizmanich

Doris Ann Krizmanich, 73, of Silver Spring, MD, formerly of Kittanning, PA, died Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, MD.

She was born February 27, 1940 in Kittanning to James W. and Mildred M. (McGrath) Ellermeyer, Sr.

Doris lived in Kittanning throughout her youth and graduated from Kittanning High School in 1958. She attended Robert Morris Business School for two years and then worked as a secretary at Penn State University. Upon returning to Kittanning she met George H. Krizmanich and they were married on April 27, 1961. Doris worked at a real estate company for a period of time, but her true calling was tending to her home and family. Nothing gave her more pleasure than caring for her husband and children, and she made sure they had a delicious home-cooked meal every night.

Doris was very social and loved to laugh, and enjoyed spending time with her many friends and family members. Entertaining brought her great joy and her neighbors frequently visited her patio in the evenings to relax and catch up on recent happenings. Playing bingo and participating in card clubs were some of Doris' favorite hobbies, but she always looked forward to her trips to Ocean City, MD. For many years she owned a condo in Ocean City and had wonderful memories of trips there with friends and family. Doris also looked forward to her visits to Smith Mountain Lake in the summer and Las Vegas in the fall with her family. She loved living in her condo at Leisure World and socializing with her many friends in the community. Faith also played an important role in her life and she was very dedicated to her church. Doris had a true servant's heart, and those who knew her will never forget the love she had for her family and friends.

Her memory will be cherished by her sons, George H. Krizmanich, Jr. and wife, Melanie, of Ashton, MD, and Michael P. Krizmanich and wife, Ann, of Burtonsville, MD; daughter, Susan M. Windsor and husband, Mark, of Silver Spring, MD; grandchildren, Valerie, Marlene, Cheryl, Alison, Kelly and Erin Krizmanich, and Charlie and Kate Windsor; brother, Charles W. Ellermeyer and wife, Jenny, of Kittanning; sisters, Rosemary Waters, of Pittsburgh, and Mildred "Mitzi" Ellermeyer, of Kittanning; and sisters-in-law, Joye Ellermeyer, of Kittanning, Helen Ellermeyer, of New Kensington, Mary Scott, of Bethesda, MD, Jacqueline Krizmanich, of Stone Mountain, GA, and Teresa Krizmanich, of Ford City; and numerous nieces and nephews who deeply adored her.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 27 years, George H. Krizmanich, Sr., who passed away August 19, 1988; and brothers, Thomas H. Ellermeyer, James W. Ellermeyer, Jr., and Gerald T. Ellermeyer.

Family and friends will be received from 7-9 PM on Friday, June 28, 2013 at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 101 W. High St., Kittanning, with the Reverend Douglas E. Dorula officiating.

Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Kittanning, Pennsylvania.
