Betty Lou Mohney
Betty Lou Mohney, age 86, of Kittanning, PA, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Allegheny General Hospital.She was born on March 28, 1927 in McGrann, PA, to King Woodside, Sr. and Myrtle (Klingensmith) Woodside.
Betty was a lifetime resident of the Kittanning and Ford City areas and was a member of the Alliance Church of Kittanning. In her younger years, she enjoyed going on camping trips with her family in Tionesta and traveling to Ocean City, MD for family beach vacations. Working in her beautiful flower gardens was one of Betty's favorite hobbies and she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed by her sons, Thomas L. Mohney and wife, Christy, of Tionesta, W. Jack Mohney, of Kittanning, Randy O. Mohney and wife, Janene, of Kittanning, and Robert V. Mohney and wife, Lisa, of Ford City; daughter, Lori Ann Toy and husband, Rusty, of Kittanning; raised as a son, James Ferry, of California; grandchildren, Christopher Mohney, Thomas Mohney, Jr. and wife, Wendy, Hope Withee and husband, Rich, Charity Bangham and husband, Terry, Patience Eckhardt and husband, Joe, Joshua Mohney, Jay Mohney, Justin Mohney and wife, Kaitlin, Ashlie Mohney, Britni Mohney, Austin Toy, Colton Toy and Braydon Toy; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Christopher, Reyna, Mason, Logan, Charlotte and Amelia; brother, William Woodside and wife, Mary Ellen, of Carlisle; sisters, Lois Jean Smith, of Carlisle, and Linnie Rodgers and husband, Melvin, of Elderton; sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Woodside, of Kittanning and Grace Woodside, of Ford City; and special niece, Valerie Boarts and husband, Howard.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Fred Mohney, who died January 22, 1982; son, Fred A. Mohney; brothers, Robert Woodside, and King Woodside; sisters, Helen Hartman and Dorothy Bouch; an infant sister, Willovene Woodside; and sister-in-law, Louise Crissman.
Friends will be received from 7-9 PM on Saturday, April 20, 2013 and from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Sunday, April 21, 2013, at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, PA.
Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM at the funeral home, on Monday, April 22, 2013, with the Rev. Mark Applebee officiating.
Burial will follow at Kittanning Cemetery, Kittanning, PA.
