Richard S. Stiteler, Sr.

Richard S. "Dick" Stiteler, Sr., age 72, of Smicksburg, PA, died Friday, September 14, 2012, at Indiana Regional Medical Center.

His life began in Owensboro, KY, where he was born on the 27th of September 1939, the son of Darrell and Elizabeth "Betty" (Tarczy) Stiteler.

He was a 1964 graduate of Grove City College where he received his degree in Electrical Engineering. For many years, he worked as a project manager for the Westinghouse Electric Company until his retirement in 1996.

Dick was an outdoor enthusiast who could be seen hunting, fishing, gardening, or golfing. He was a member of the Plumville Hunting Club in Howard, PA. Of all the aspects of his life that he enjoyed, nothing came close to the love he had for his family and the time he spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

He will be deeply missed by his wife of 49 years, Mary (Romancik) Stiteler whom he married on August 31, 1963; two sons, Richard S. Stiteler, Jr. and wife, Cathie of Home, PA, and Brett T. Stiteler and friend, Renee Lazeration of Smicksburg, PA; daughter, Kimberly Reed and husband, Eric of Punxsutawney, PA; three grandchildren, Taylor, Hunter, and Chaise Stiteler; one brother, David Stiteler and wife, Linda of LaPine, OR; five sisters, Betty Ann McIntire of Dayton, PA, Willetta Busch and husband, Bill of Smicksburg, PA, Darla Graham and husband, Dave of Kingman, AZ, Rosemary Powell and husband, Douglas of Ormond Beach, FL, and Rebecca Pruitt and husband, Vern of Mansfield, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Relatives and friends may visit from 2-4PM and 7-9PM on Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at the Bauer-Bly Funeral Home, Inc., 125 East Main Street, Dayton, PA, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at 10AM with the Rev. Father Matthew Conjelko officiating.

Interment will follow in the Smicksburg Lutheran Cemetery, Smicksburg, PA.

Memorial contributions may be made in Richard's honor to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
