Amanda Erin Beatty

Amanda Erin Beatty, age 11, of Dayton, PA, died Friday, June 1, 2012 at her residence.

She was born May 16, 2001 in Kittanning, PA, the daughter of Christine (Smail) Beatty.

Amanda was a member of the Plumville Presbyterian Church where she attended Sunday school and participated in many church activities. Every holiday she enjoyed taking part in the plays put on by the children. She attended McCreary Elementary School in Marion Center where she just finished the fifth grade. Amanda also participated in the Plumville Bells, holding one of the flags.

Amanda loved to be outside; whether it was riding her four-wheeler, riding bicycles, taking a ride on her pony or just training her pet baby goat for the fair, she was always active and adventurous. She kept a watchful eye on her little sister, Sara, and included her in everything she did. She was a kind and generous little girl with wisdom far beyond her young age.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her maternal grandparents, Ronald and Lorna Smail, of Dayton; paternal grandfather, Lewis C. Beatty and Cindy Hornberger, of Mayport, PA; paternal grandmother, Karen Beatty, of Home, PA; paternal aunts, Linda Yale and husband, Earl John, of Fayetteville, PA, Debbie Sullivan and husband, David, of Seabeck, WA, Dayna Beer, of Penn Run; paternal uncle, David Beatty, of Home, PA; paternal cousins, Corinne Yale, Guen Yale, Jasemine Sullivan, Jarrett Beatty, Alex Beatty, Maddix Beatty; maternal great aunts, Karen Craven, of Vandergrift, Katheryne Doms and husband, Herman, of Worthington, and Nancy Skursky, of Vandergrift; maternal great uncles, Michael Skursky and companion, Donna Bash, of Templeton, Kevin Skursky and wife, Fran, of Shelocta, and David Peltz, of Vandergrift; cousin, Velma Vensel, of Worthington; and many other cousins and friends.

Amanda was preceded in death by her mother, Christine A. Beatty; sister, Sara Kaylee Beatty; maternal great-grandparents, Robert and Iona Smail and Michael and Rae Skursky; and maternal great aunts, Michele Stone and Bonnie Daughterty.

Family and friends will be received from 11-2 PM on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Plumville Presbyterian Church, 168 Main Street, Plumville, PA where funeral services will be held at 2 PM with her minister, the Rev. Mark Gaskill officiating.

Burial will be in Gigal Cemetery, Marion Center, PA.
