Kenneth "Red" Knestrick

Kenneth "Red" Knestrick, 92, of Dayton, PA, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, Feb. 20, 2026 at his home.

He was born on April 13, 1933 in Scenery Hill, Washington County, PA; the son of William Rice and Edna Knestrick Stathers.

Ken had 73 years of dedicated service with the Iron Workers Union Local #3. He was the owner and operator of Knestrick Cycle Salvage in Dayton and had previously owned and managed a gun and cycle shop in Vandergrift. He took great pleasure in riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles, hunting and spending time with his family.

Ken is survived by son, Eric Knestrick and wife, Amy of Dayton, PA; daughter Deborah Knestrick of Dayton, PA; grandchildren, Jeffrey Toy and wife, Gwen, Travis Toy and wife, Brittney, Lisa Schultz and husband, Ben, Kelly Knestrick, Kenny Knestrick and wife, Sarah, Daniel Knestrick, Jules Knestrick, and Lucas Knestrick; great-grandchildren, Johnathan Toy, Logan Toy, Zachary Toy, Joseph Toy, Taylor Toy, Miles Toy, Hailey Toy, Regan Schultz, Noah Schultz, Kenzy Schultz, Brody Stover, Samatha Stover, McKenzy Schrecengost, Levi Schrecengost, and River Schrecengost; a brother, Keith Stathers and wife, Caroline of Nitro, WV, and a sister, Shirley Davis and husband Tom, of Conway, SC.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Emily T. (Urbanski) Knestrick, whom he married on June 6, 1965 and who passed away on June 13, 2002; sons, Jason Knestrick and Kenneth "Buster" Knestrick; brothers, Carl Knestrick, Lee Stathers, Keith Stathers, and William Stathers; and sister, Ilene Lants.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026 at the Bauer-Bly Funeral Home, 125 E. Main St., Dayton, PA 16222.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026 at the funeral home with his grandson, Pastor Kenneth Knestrick, Jr. officiating.

Per Ken's request in celebration of his life, you are welcome to wear your Harley or Iron Worker Local #3 attire to both the viewing and funeral service.

The family wishes to thank the Good Samaritan Hospice, especially Nikki, Tammy, Anthony, and Cheryl, for the wonderful care they provided for Ken and his family.

Entombment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell, PA.
