Evalene C. Lasher

Evalene C. Lasher, 88, of New Kensington, PA, formerly of Kittanning, PA, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025 at her home.

She was born on April 7, 1937 in Johnstown, PA; the daughter of Steven J. and Vivienne C. (Kegg) Klesyk.

Evalene co-owned Lasher's Decorating with her husband, Albert. At the age of 50, she pursued her nursing education at Lenape Technical School, where she earned her LPN. She was employed for many years at Dr. Moore's office in Ford City. Evalene found joy in gardening, painting, and decorating, and she especially cherished the holiday season. She loved to bake and was known for preparing wonderful treats for everyone including her mailman and garbage collectors. Music was a constant companion in her life, and she delighted in playing a wide variety of songs on her Alexa. Above all, her greatest joy came from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart. Evalene will be remembered for her kind spirit and her gift of conversation, as she could carry on a conversation with anyone.

Her memory will be cherished by her daughter, Lisa M. Jordan of New Kensington; son, Patrick T. Lasher and wife, Ann of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Jessica Johnson and companion Victor Saunders, Megan Jordan, and Alannah Lasher; Jessica and Megan's father, William Jordan; great-grandchildren, Ryann Johnson and Chase Saunders; and sisters, Pauline K. Brutts of Gilbertsville, PA and Vivienne K. Granda and husband, Thomas of Westmont, PA.

Evalene was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Albert T. "Pete" Lasher, Jr., whom she married on July 19, 1974 and who passed away on Aug. 23, 2005; and her first husband, Leo Cortese.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025 at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning, PA.

Additional visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 5, 2025 from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Edward A. Walters officiating.

Interment will be in Kittanning Cemetery, Kittanning, PA.
