M. Virginia "Ginger" Byerly

M. Virginia "Ginger" Byerly, 88, of Dayton, PA passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at her home.

She was born on Aug. 22, 1936 in Wayne Twp., PA to Glenn A. and Janet E. (Bush) Fisher.

Ginger was a 1954 graduate of Dayton High School and a lifelong resident of the Dayton area. She retired in 1992 after 25 years as a secretary for the Armstrong School Administration Building and later for the Dayton High School. Ginger was a member of the Dayton Global Methodist Church, the Dayton American Legion Auxiliary and a life member of the Armstrong Co. Chapter PA Assoc. of School Retirees. She enjoyed doing wood crafting and spending time with her family.

Her memory will be cherished by her son, William L. Byerly of Dayton; her daughter, Abby S. Byerly of Glenshaw, PA; grandchildren, Nicholas W. Byerly and wife, Alyssa and Erica D. Frederick and husband, Ben; great-grandchildren, Liam Byerly, Kamryn Frederick, Jensen Byerly, and Leila Frederick.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Clair D. "Bud" Byerly, who she married on April 30, 1959 and who passed away on March 6, 2021; brothers, Kenneth M. Fisher, Raymond L. Fisher, Thomas L. Fisher, and Josiah "Charlie" Fisher; and sisters, Betty Louise Kirkpatrick and Myrtle Mollo.

Family and friends will be received from 4-8 PM on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at the Dayton Global Methodist Church 105 East Church Street, Dayton, PA 16222.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Dayton Global Methodist Church, with Pastor Barry Ritenour officiating.

Interment will be in the Emory Chapel Cemetery in Wayne Twp., PA.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made in Ginger's memory to the Dayton Global Methodist Church, PO Box 336, Dayton, PA 16222.
