Catherine C. Spicher

Catherine C. Spicher, 101, of Brighton, MI, formerly of Kittanning, PA, died Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI.

She was born on May 19, 1912 in Altoona, PA to Ward and Nellie (Gable) Cressley.

Catherine was a 1930 graduate of Glen Campbell High School and was a lifetime resident of the Kittanning area. She was a member of the Grace Presbyterian Church and served on the Women's Association board. Catherine was also a member of the Eastern Starr #277 of Kittanning and the Kittanning Area Women's Club.

Her memory will be cherished by her son, D. Keith Spicher and wife, Bonnie (Goldstrohm), of Brighton, MI; daughter, Kay Brodhead, of Baton Rouge, LA; grandsons, Brian Spicher, Kevin Spicher and wife, Diane, and Jason Brodhead; granddaughters, Mindy Averitt and husband, Larry, and Amy Osler and husband, Gregory; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Darrell F. "Squib" Spicher, whom she married October 28, 1933 and who died November 20, 1997; brother, Don T. Cressley; and sister, Jeanne Jones.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, PA 16201.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Monday, February 24, 2014 at the funeral home, with the Rev. John W. Snyder officiating.

Interment will be at Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, PA.
