Isobel O. Seyler

Isobel O. Seyler, 93, of Springfield, VA died Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at her residence.

She was born February 22, 1920 in Kittanning, PA, to H. Nolen Opel and Isabelle (Gleixner) Opel.

Isobel grew up in the Kittanning area and was of the Roman Catholic faith. She graduated from the Indiana State Teacher's College in Indiana, PA, where she was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority. Isobel was a devoted wife and mother, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, William C. Seyler, Jr., and wife, Alina, of Irvington, NY; daughters, Carol Bruner, of Bloomfield Hills, MI, and Kathryn Hoffman, of Herndon, VA; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and sister, Marjorie VanInwegen and husband, Donald, of Gibsonia, PA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Dr. William C. Seyler, whom she married July 4, 1942 and who died December 19, 2004; and brother, Robert N. Opel.

The family will receive friends from 9 AM until 9:30 AM on Friday, January 10, 2014 at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 North McKean Street, Kittanning, PA.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Friday, January 10, 2014 at St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 101 W. High St., Kittanning, with the Reverend Douglas E. Dorula officiating.

Interment will be at Kittanning Cemetery, Kittanning, PA.
