Pauline Emma Coleman Hosey

Pauline Emma Coleman Hosey, age 98, of Rimersburg, formerly of Phoenix PA, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012 at her residence.

She was born December 3, 1914 in Milton, PA, the daughter of James K. and Lucinda Kathryn (Hallman) Blose.

Pauline was born and raised in the Dayton area and continued to live there for the first 45 years of her life. She was a graduate of the Dayton High School class of 1931. She married Dennis W. Coleman Sr. on August 18, 1931 and were blessed with 59 years together prior to his passing May 13, 1990. Pauline was a former member of the Dayton United Methodist Church and the women's quilting group. She also served on the board of directors for the Milton Cemetery and was a member of the American Legion Post 0095 of Dayton. She was previously employed with the telephone company in Dayton, the grocery store in Dayton and the Elkins Nursery in Porter for four years. Pauline also volunteered her time at the Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. In 1992, Pauline married James N. Hosey and they enjoyed 15 years of marriage prior to his death March 19, 2008. Most recently, Pauline attended the Rimersburg United Methodist Church and was a member of the Fidelis Sunday school class.

It was as a wife, mother and grandmother that she found her true calling, dedicating herself wholly to her family. Pauline will be fondly remembered for her kind heart and generous spirit and she will be greatly missed by the many lives she touched.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory three sons; Harold R. Coleman and his wife, Lori of Morrison, CO; James H. Coleman and his wife, Linda and John I. Coleman and his wife, Patricia, all of Kittanning; two daughters, Mildred Kirkpatrick and her husband Arthur of New Park, PA and Phyllis Atkins and her husband LeRoy of Palo Alto, CA; two step-sons, Richard Hosey and his wife, Susan of FL and the Rev. James N. Hosey, Jr. and his wife Jeannine of Keymar, MD; one step-daughter, Marsha Shick and her husband Kenneth of Rimersburg; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren, step great-grandchildren; step-great-great grandchildren; one brother, Jack Blose of Smicksburg; two sisters, Dorothy Perry of Punxsutawney and Buelah Lair and her husband, Raymond of Diana, FL; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Dennis W. Coleman Sr. and her second husband, James N. Hosey; her son, Dennis W. Coleman Jr. who was killed in action in operations on Old Baldy in Korea on June 16, 1952; one grandchild; seven brothers, John, Clifford, Robert, Stanley, and James Blose and two infant brothers; and one sister, Florence Stonebraker.

Relatives and friends may visit from 2-4 and PM and 7-9 PM on Monday, December 17, 2012 at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 758 Main Street, Rimersburg, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10AM until the time of funeral services at the Milton Church, 1957 Dayton Road, Dayton, PA 16222, on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 with the Rev. Dennis A. Fetter officiating.

Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery, Wayne Township, Armstrong County, PA.
