Edgar C. Moore
Edgar C. Moore, age 90, of Rimersburg, PA passed away Friday, October 26, 2012 at Miners Medical Center in Hastings, PA.

He was born on July 6, 1922 in Templeton, PA, the son of Earl A. and Cora P. (Fox) Moore.
Edgar was in the CCC Camp at Homer City in 1939 and worked at different places throughout Armstrong and Clarion Counties during his life. From December, 1942 through December, 1945 he honorably served his country in the 53rd Armored Infantry Battalion, 4th Armored Division under General George Patton, and received three bronze stars for his service in Normandy, North France and Central Europe. On December 29, 1943, Edgar married Fredella Rankin from Rimersburg at the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Templeton, and the wedding was officiated by the late Pastor JC Himes.
He first came to Allentown in 1949 and was a student at Allentown Bible College until 1952. During his life he lived in a number of towns in the Lehigh Valley, including Allentown, Windgap, Bethlehem and Centre Village. Edgar worked at a number of jobs in the Lehigh Valley area, including various jobs in the construction industry as an equipment operator or truck driver. Faith was paramount in Edgar's life; he was the former pastor of God's Missionary Church in Seven Stars, Huntington Co., PA and most recently was an active member of Wildcat Wesleyan Methodist Church.
Community was important to Edgar, and he was very involved throughout the Rimersburg area. Edgar was a member of the Rimersburg American Legion and was honored to participate in a number of military services over the years. He also donated his WWII medals to the Rimersburg Veterans Museum. Edgar was gifted as a mechanic and could fix anything that was broken. People around Rimersburg knew him as the friendly man who rode around on his scooter, even carrying treats with him to feed any dog he might have met along the way. He will be best remembered for his giving and loving spirit and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
His legacy will be carried on by his sons, Howard J. Moore and wife, Patricia, of Howard, PA and Marshall Clair Moore and wife, Leona Jane, of Barnsboro, PA; daughter, Eunice M. Loy and husband, Ronald, of Clifton Park, NY; grandsons, Marshall Moore Jr. and wife, Brenda, Charles T. Moore, and Kevin, Scott, Brian and Eric Loy; and five great-grandchildren.
Edgar was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 62 years, Fredella M. (Rankin) Moore, who passed away April 11, 2006; son, Vernon A. Moore; brother, John E. Moore; and sister, Alice A. Moore.
Relatives and friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Sunday, October, 28, 2012 at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 758 Main Street, Rimersburg, PA.
Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Monday, October 29, 2012 at Wildcat Wesleyan Methodist Church, Rimersburg, PA, with the Reverend Mark Deeter, John McClure, and the Reverend Gary Guntrum as officiants.
Burial will follow at Rimersburg Cemetery, Rimersburg, PA where military honors will be presented by the Rimersburg American Legion Post 454 and the VFW Post 7132.
Memorial contributions may be made in Edgar's honor to the Rimersburg Veterans Museum, c/o Jim McCullough, 231 Monterrey Rd., Rimersburg, PA 16248.
