Joseph C. Reitinger, 93, of Cabot, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot, PA.

He was born November 16, 1930 in Ford City, PA to George E. and Pauline T. (Theuerl) Reitinger.

Joe and his wife, Donna, moved to Conneaut Lake in 1968 and lived there until 2005 when they relocated to Concordia Lutheran Retirement Community in Cabot. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War and was a life member of the Destroyer Escort Sailors Association. Joe was a member of Masonic Pine Lodge #498 of Linesville where he served as Worshipful Master in 1978, and he also belonged to the New Castle Consistory.

Joe worked at PPG Industries of Meadville for 40 years as a machinist. He was very instrumental in establishing Lutheran worship services in Conneaut Lake. Joe also served on the borough council and the zoning commission of Conneaut Lake. One of his favorite activities was raising and showing Kerry Blue Terriers, and he loved his champions, Donnal's Blue Chips and Donnal's Fire Dancer. In his spare time, Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and playing golf. He will be best remembered for being a loving husband and father.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 73 years, Donna J. (Henry) Reitinger, whom he married March 31, 1951; a son, Joseph Reitinger and wife, Coletta, of Conneaut Lake; his daughter, Christine Reitinger and husband, Pete Craft, of Conneaut Lake; a daughter-in-law Susan Reitinger of Meadville; grandchildren, Eric Reitinger and wife, Lana, and Lyndie Billingsly; three great-grandchildren, River, Avery, and Brynn; and granddaughter-in-law, Heather Reitinger.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Albert Reitinger; grandson, Andrew Reitinger; brother, Frank Reitinger; and a sister, Anna Gonano.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, June 24, 2024 at Lawn Haven Burial Estates, 1290 Butler Rd., Worthington, PA with Dan Chittock officiating. Military honors will be presented by the Armstrong County American Legion Honor Guard.
