Betty B. Neal

Betty B. Neal, 89, of Cabot, PA, formerly of Dayton, PA, left her earthly life to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024 at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot, PA.

She was born September 11, 1934 in North Union Twp., Fayette Co., PA to Truman and Ruth (Robinson) Hileman.

Betty graduated from North Union High School in 1953. Prior to her marriage, she worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone in Uniontown, PA. She was a member of the Dayton Glade Run Presbyterian Church, where she served as a past Deacon and was involved with both the Mission Committee and the Women's Association. Betty previously was a member of the Belknap United Church of Christ where she actively participated as a Sunday school and bible school teacher. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of New Bethlehem and the Dayton American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. In her free time, she enjoyed baking, crocheting and hand crafting. Betty especially loved her family and cheering for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Miller and husband, Jeff of Kittanning, Brenda Smith and husband, Rick of Tampa, FL, and Beth Neal and husband, Tom of Manorville; grandsons, Scott Miller and wife, Nicole and Zachary Sweeney; granddaughter, Kelsey Little; step-grandson, Ryan Smith and wife, Stephanie; great-grandson, Ronald Little, Jr., step-great-grandchildren, Reed Smith, Sydney Smith, and Jackson Lecorchick and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Blair William Neal, whom she married November 10, 1957 and who died June 3, 1995; brothers, Truman Hileman Jr. and James Reckard; and sisters, Claudine Conway, Margaret Mahoney, Pauline Dixon, Elsie Porter, Josephine Twigg, and Maxine Mahoney.

Betty's family would like to thank Oertel Assisted Living at Concordia in Cabot and Grey's Colonial Manor in Kittanning for the care they provided to Betty and a special thank you to Ed Hollenbaugh for all of his help and care throughout the years.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2024, at the Bauer-Bly Funeral Home, 125 E. Main Street, Dayton, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Monday, Jan. 29, 2024, at Dayton Glade Run Presbyterian Church, 2540 Dayton Smicksburg Rd., Dayton, PA, with the Pastor Sheila Wadding officiating.

Interment will be in Belknap Cemetery, Dayton, PA.
