Alvin Blair "Sonny" Conner

Alvin Blair "Sonny" Conner, 82, of Templeton, PA, passed away on Friday, Jan. 19, 2024 at his home.

He was born on June 28, 1941, in Ford City, PA; the son of Alvin Merle and Dorothy Maye (Schreckengost) Conner

Sonny attended Widnoon United Methodist Church and was a member of the United Mine Workers. He was previously employed at Pechcan's Bakery and Butler Forge, before starting at R&P Coal, where he retired in 2000 after 27 years of service. Sonny enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing for steelhead in Erie, prospecting for gold in Arizona, and searching for diamonds in Arkansas at the Crater of Diamonds State Park. He will be lovingly remembered for endless kindness and his wonderful story telling.

His memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Mary Ellen "Pete" (Stitt) Conner, whom he married on April 26, 1969; his son, Jason Conner and wife, Krista of Templeton; his daughter Angela Clever and husband, Todd of Kittanning; and his eight grandchildren, Quinton, Aura Maclay, Avía, Vieria, and Vaila Clever, and Colten, Brooklynn, and Addison Conner.

Sonny is also survived by a brother, Frank Conner and wife, Doris of Frenchville, PA; and his sisters, Barbara Conner, Beverly Conner and Cheryl Wagner all of Florida.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, James Conner and Chris Conner.

Friends and family will be received from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024, at the Bauer Funeral Home, 515 North McKean Street, Kittanning, PA.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024, at the funeral home with Rev. Joyce Dix-Weiers, STS officiating.

Interment will be in Cochran Cemetery, Templeton, PA.
