Buddy L. Crissman

Buddy L. Crissman, 78, of Weirton, WV, formerly of Dayton, PA, died on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at his home in Weirton, WV.

He was born April 4, 1944 in Dayton, PA, the son of William M. and Margaret (McCune) Crissman.

Buddy was a resident of Dayton, Pennsylvania area his entire life before moving to Weirton, West Virginia in 2001 with his partner, Dorothy Bever. He was a former member of Belknap Church of Christ in Belknap and a devote Christian by faith. He had a giving heart and was extremely hard-working. He worked in the Ohio/Pennsylvania coal mines for 22 years and retired from DBT America Inc. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and most of all being outdoors. He loved to spend time with his family especially his many nieces and nephews, Lori DeWitt (Ed), Erik Nelson, Amanda Powers (Shawn), Carson DeWitt, Levi DeWitt, Christopher Powers and Nicholas Powers. He will be best remembered for being a real woodsman.

His memory will be cherished by his beloved life partner Dorothy Bever; brother, David Crissman and sisters, Theresa Reefer, Cindy Woodside, and Shirley Crissman; nieces, Linda Vinton (Gordon), Debra Kreutzer (Bill), Tammy Gregory (Scott); nephews, Larry Nelson (Diane), Rick Crissman (Amy), Allen Crissman, Jake Crissman; sister-in-law Ella Mae Crissman and Dorothy's children, Thomas Bever (Jara), Sandra Hansen, and Christine Dalrymple (David) and grandchildren, Ross Hickman (Justina), Paige Woofter (Brandon), Madison Dalrymple, Garrett Bever, Cole Hansen, Lexi Bever, and Aiden Hansen.

Buddy was preceded in death by his infant daughters, Terry Laverne and Sherry Ann Crissman; brothers Tim, George and Arthur Crissman; and sisters, Pauline Crissman, Ruby Nelson and Louise France; one nephew Mark Crissman and one niece, Sandra Hackney.

Friends and family will be received from 1:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 3:00 PM, on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at the Bauer-Bly Funeral Home, 125 East Main Street, Dayton, PA.

Interment will be in Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery, New Bethlehem, PA.
