Jack Niederkorn

Jack Niederkorn, age 69, of Waikoloa, HI, formerly of Tacoma, WA, died Tuesday, July 24, 2012 in Honolulu, HI.

He was born on December 4, 1942 in Tacoma, WA, the son of Paul J. and Roma (Pearson) Niederkorn.

Jack graduated from Federal Way High School in Tacoma in 1961 and honorably served his country in the Vietnam War. He served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Wexford County from 1964-1965. In his early years, he worked as a sales representative and most recently was a U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Master. Jack enjoyed sailing with his wife, Vicki Lynn Hutchison, whom he married December 10, 1983. He liked camping, snorkeling, ham radio and was an overall outdoor enthusiast.

Left to cherish his memory are loving wife, Vicki Lynn (Hutchison) Niederkorn; daughter, Heidi Pase, of Tacoma, WA; grandsons, Riley and Connor Pase; sisters, Eleanor Earley, of Tacoma, WA and Carol Fenske, of Redmond, WA; nephew, Coleman Gehri; niece, Robin D'Amico; and beloved pets, Moose, Punkin, Nui and Nani.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marilyn DeTrey; nephews, Alfred Gehri and Wayne Michael West; and beloved cat, Chula.

A family memorial service will be held at a later date in his home state of Washington.

Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Apollo, PA.
