Raymond Eugene Girt

Raymond Eugene Girt, 84, of Whitesburg, PA, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018, at his residence.

He was born October 2, 1934 in Girty, PA, the son of Margaret Walker.

Ray was a lifelong resident of Armstrong County and worked at the Megnin Mills saw mill for 20 years. He was a member of Whitesburg United Methodist Church. Ray loved chewing tobacco and being outdoors, with his favorite hobbies being mowing grass and tending to his vegetable garden.

He will be remembered with love by his wife, Mary E. (Blaney) Girt, whom he married October 19, 1962; sons, Raymond E. Girt and Daniel E. Girt, both of Whitesburg, and Joseph E. Girt and wife, Kelli, of Washington state; daughter, Susan E. Cogley, of Kittanning; and grandsons, Garrett and Ryder Girt.

Ray was preceded in death by his mother.

At Ray's request, services will be private.
