Beverly Mae Jamison
Beverly Mae Jamison, 87, of South Bend, PA, passed away at home with her family by her side, Tuesday, August 29, 2017.She was born January 20, 1930 in Plumcreek Twp., Armstrong Co., PA, the daughter of Homer and Ilone (Blystone) Leightley.
Beverly was a resident of South Bend since 1949 and lived in the house built by her husband. She devoted her life to her family and they were very proud of her devotion to Clair. She lived her faith in God and was a long-time member of the St. Jacobs Lutheran Church and more recently, West Lebanon Church of God. Beverly volunteered her time as a Meals on Wheels driver, 4-H leader, Helping Hands, and Homemakers.
She loved painting ceramics, pretty shoes, scrapbooks, puzzles, family pictures, and flowers but hated the weeds. She enjoyed writing letters to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and sending them her delicious cookies. She also enjoyed making home-made noodles for every holiday, applesauce and pies from her own apples, and deviled eggs she served in her collection of egg dishes.
Throughout her life, she traveled with her husband in a conversion van to all 50 states, except Hawaii, and even took a six-week trip through Canada to Alaska. Beverly was happiest when with her family and her gentle spirit and positive "can do" attitude will always be remembered.
She will be remembered with love by her four children, Vicki Suchar and husband, Jim, of Springdale, Randy Jamison and wife, Pamela Sparling, of Stratham, NH, Marsha Luckett and husband, James, of Fredericksburg, VA, and Barry Jamison and wife, Debbie, of Avonmore; seven grandchildren, Melissa (Suchar) and husband, Greg Williamson, Stephanie (Suchar) and husband, Joe Sabot, Dave Jamison, Greg Jamison and wife, Brittany, Jonathan Ladeau and wife, Tracie, Barbara (Luckett) and husband, Eric Johnson, and Daniel Luckett; and eight great-grandchildren Ethan, Evan, and Emma Claire Williamson, Adriana and Logan Sabot, Braydon and Cameron John Jamison; and Abel Ladeau; her sisters Ruth Rearick, and Kathleen "Sis" Boyle and husband, Bob; and a sister-in-law, Barb Leightley-Girt.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, John "Clair" Jamison, whom she married June 4, 1949 and who died March 15, 2013; infant daughter, Cynthia; brother, Ronald Leightley; and a brother-in-law, Emmet Rearick.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Friday, September 1, 2017, at the Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, Inc., 238 S. Main Street, Elderton.
Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at the funeral home, with Rev. John Mark Henry and Rev. Thomas Spiker co-officiating.
Burial will be in South Bend Cemetery, Shelocta, Pennsylvania.
