Robert E. "Ike" Isenberg

Robert E. "Ike" Isenberg, 84, of Creekside, PA, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Kittanning Care Center with his family by his side.

He was born September 24, 1929, in Pitcairn, PA, the son of W. Kenneth and Ethel M. (Clawson) Isenberg.

Ike lived in the Creekside area for most of his life and honorably served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. For many years he worked in maintenance for Blue Spruce Park in Indiana, PA, retiring in 1992. Ike enjoyed hunting and playing cards, and also loved bluegrass music. Working on antique cars was one of his favorite hobbies and he will be best remembered for being a gifted storyteller.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 17 years, Marlene (Ewing) Isenberg, whom he married August 31, 1996; sons, Kevin Isenberg and wife, Debbie, of Graceton, and Duane Isenberg and wife, Rhonda, of Ernest; daughters, Billie Silvis and husband, Daryl, of Creekside, Michelle Shaffer and husband, John, of Avonmore, and Bonnie Robertson and husband, Tom, of Shelocta; grandchildren, Jessie Isenberg, Ethen Isenberg, Joseph Toy and fiancée, Vikky Stonebreaker, Jeremy Robertson and Willie Robertson; and sisters, Janet Adams and husband, Art, of Eden, NY, Marie Stadtmiller and husband, Bernard, of Creekside, and Shirley Visnick and husband, Ron, of Indiana; several nieces and nephews; best buddy, Emanuel Mano, of Creekside; and beloved puppies, Billie Jo and Chloe.

Ike was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Barbara (Biehl) Isenberg, who died May 9, 1994; brother, Kenneth Isenberg; and grandson, Matthew Silvis.

Friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at the Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, 238 S. Main St., Elderton.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana, PA.
