Susan M. Knepshield

Susan M. Knepshield, 79, of Kittanning, PA, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born March 31, 1934 in Pittsburgh, PA to Joseph and Rose (Kopco) Goral.

Susan was raised by her aunt and uncle, Peg and Jake Rubenstein, in West Mifflin and later moved to the Kittanning area with her husband and six children. She was an avid reader of all types of literature and also enjoyed bowling and playing in her card club. Susan loved being married and caring for her family, and she will be best remembered for being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Her memory will be cherished by her sons, David Knepshield and wife, Beth Ann, of Ford City, Robie Knepshield and wife, Janice, of Kittanning, and Kevin Knepshield and wife, Carrie, of Kittanning; daughters, Kathleen Knepshield, of Kittanning, Ellen Sellner and husband, Bill, of Fairmount City, and Aline King and husband, Loren, of Mount Morris, PA; grandchildren, Nathanial Sellner, Anne Sellner Wanninger and husband, Zack, Jenny Sellner, Rachel King, Zane King, Hannah King, Ian Knepshield, Claire Knepshield, Addison Knepshield, Grace Knepshield, Kyle Knepshield, Parkes Knepshield, Kaitlyn Knepshield, Kelly Knepshield and Emily Knepshield; great-granddaughter, Kieran Marie Wanninger; sister, Ann "Tootie" Ruddell, of Pawleys Island, SC; and cousin she was raised with, Dorothy Neil, of Pittsburgh.

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Ralph O. Knepshield, whom she married September 6, 1958 and who died September 13, 2003; brothers, Thomas and Robert Goral; and sisters, Jean Havrilcsak and Jerry Dominski.

Relatives and friends may visit from 7-9 PM on Monday, February 10, 2014 and from 2-4 and 6 PM until the time of funeral services at 8 PM on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning, with the Rev. John W. Snyder officiating.
