Marilyn Ruth Mealey

Marilyn Ruth Mealey, age 79, of Bruin, PA passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013, at VNA Inpatient Hospice of Butler with her family by her side.

She was born in Oil City, PA on March 9, 1934, the daughter of Richard and Hilda (Fasenmyer) Hargenrader.

Marilyn spent her childhood years in Oil City and shortly after marrying Beryl moved to Bruin in 1958 and have made it their home where they raised five children. She was a 30 year member of the former St. Mary Roman Catholic Church of Parker and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Brady's Bend. Marilyn had been employed as a waitress for 10 years with the Centurion Restaurant in Petrolia but her true calling was being a mother and caring for her family. She loved being outside, planting flowers, swinging on the porch, and watching and feeding the birds. Marilyn will best be remembered for her pleasant personality, gentle nature, and being a friend to all who had the pleasure to know her.

She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 54 years, Beryl Mealey whom she married on April 29, 1958; four sons, Randall Mealey and wife Sherri of Grove City, Richard Mealey and wife Cindy of Tylersburg, Dale Mealey of Syracuse, NY, and Greg Mealey and wife Dacey of Fenelton; a daughter, Pamela Rippee and husband Dean of Saxonburg; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Hargenrader of Venus, PA, and Robert Hargenrader of Oil City; three sisters, Ethel Burch of Franklin, Katherine Zimoski of Oil City, and Jean Gibbons and husband Donald of Franklin.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; a great granddaughter; a brother, Gerald Hargenrader; two sisters-in-law, Doris Hargenrader and Ardelle Hargenrader; and two brothers-in-law, Edward Burch and Victor Zimoski.

Relatives and friends may visit from 12 noon to 2 PM on Monday, April 15, 2013, at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 102 Argyle Street, Petrolia, PA, where a blessing service will be conducted at 2 PM with the Reverend Douglas Lorance as celebrant.

Burial will follow in Hemphill Cemetery, Chicora, Pennsylvania.

In honor of Marilyn, contributions may be made in her memory to St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 915 Pennsylvania 68, East Brady, PA 16028.
