Rose Marie Lipps

Rose Marie Lipps, age 72, of Rimersburg, PA, died Friday, December 24, 2010, at the Clarview Nursing Home, Sligo, PA surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 23, 1938, in Parker, PA, the daughter of Walter E. Ramsey and Naomi "Toots" Hosey.

Rose Marie was a graduate of the former Union Joint High School where she was the head majorette. A protestant by faith, she taught Sunday school and was a Girl Scout leader. Rose Marie was employed with the Davis Cookie Company as a packer during high school and returned after her children were born. She also worked at the Lerner Dress Shop in New Orleans, LA.

Rose Marie was a self taught seamstress. Her sewing abilities were admired by many, and she created beautiful handmade garments ranging from specialty clothes to wedding dresses. Rose Marie's talents extended far beyond sewing; she had a passion for the outdoors, and took great pleasure in her nature walks and feeding the birds. She enjoyed baking and could cook a meal that would warm any heart. Rose Marie was also a brilliant collector of friends, cultivating wonderful relationships with many people through the years. It was as a wife, mother and grandmother that she found her true calling, devoting herself wholly to her family. She left a gentle touch on many people's lives that will be deeply missed as the seasons change.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory four children and their families; her daughter Darlene Paulden and her husband Kim, of Berkshire England; Darlene's three children, Melissa Paulden Ruel and her husband Dean, Christie Booth and her husband Simon, and Nathan Paulden; and Darlene's grandchildren Tia and Jodie Ruel and Lewis and Adam Booth. Her son, Dennis Lipps and his wife Darla of Rimersburg; Dennis's four children, Curtis Lipps and his wife Lindy, Brian Lipps, Jeremy Lipps and Tina Lipps; and Dennis's first grandchild due in early 2011. Her daughter, Susan Carnathan and her husband Eric, of Rimersburg; Susan's three children, Adrian Carnathan, Alex Carnathan and his wife Mindy, and Mitchel Carnathan; and Susan's two grandchildren, Hunter and Evangeline Carnathan. Her daughter, Lisa McAdoo and her husband Brad of Clarion; and Lisa's two children Heather McAdoo and Nicole McAdoo.

Rose Marie was preceded in death by her father; her beloved mother, Toots Hosey who died in June, 2005; her husband, Dale R. Lipps, whom she married September 22, 1956 and who died in 1988; and her infant sister, Lois.

Relatives and friends may visit from 2-4PM and 7-9PM on Monday, December 27, 2010 at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 758 Main Street, Rimersburg. Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the funeral home with the Pastor of Visitation Margaret Mortimer, officiating.

Burial will follow at Rimersburg Cemetery, Rimersburg, Pennsylvania.
