Wilma A. Cessna

Wilma A. Cessna, 93, of Shelocta, PA, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024, peacefully at her home.

She was born April 29, 1931, in Canoe Twp., PA, the daughter of Olen R. and Laura L. (Baun) Dunmire.

Wilma was a 1946 graduate of Indiana High School. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Indiana, PA. Wilma enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, winning at Upwords and rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins. She will be best remembered as being "Mom" and "Nana" not only to her family, but all of their friends as well.

She is survived by her sons, Dennis O. Cessna (Brenda) of Gettsyburg, PA, Ronald W. Cessna (Karen), and Allen L. Cessna, both of Shelocta, PA, and James T. Cessna (companion, Patti Kidd) of Meadville, PA; daughters Karen A. Pritt (Jerry) of Rural Valley, PA and Donna J. Moore (Fred) of McKeesport, PA; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Harry Dunmire (Esther) of Shelocta, PA; her sisters, Patricia Foltz of East Palestine, OH, and Judy Sturdevant (Dennis) of Sheffield, PA; and her special care angels Cookie McCoy and Kathy Slee who provided exceptional care and friendship over the past few years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Ronald A. Cessna, whom she married on March 22, 1952 and who died on Nov. 20, 1996; her daughter, Deborah Kay Cessna; and a granddaughter, Hope Marie Cessna; brother, Ted Dunmire; and sisters, Elaine Semsick and Ruth Brant.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, Inc., 238 S. Main Street, Elderton, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 398 Church Street, Indiana, PA 15701, with the Reverend J. Patrick Lenox officiating.

Interment will follow in Elderton Cemetery, Elderton, PA.

Contributions can be made in Wilma's memory to Trinity United Methodist Church.
