Josephine A. Steffy

Josephine A. Steffy, 101, of Palmyra, PA, formerly of Dayton, PA passed away on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022 at her daughter's home in Palmyra.

She was born on Jan. 12, 1921 in Wayne Township, Armstrong County, PA to Samuel and Maude (Schreckengost) Rupp.

Josephine was a 1941 graduate of Dayton High School. She was a homemaker and along with her husband, William, ran a dairy farm. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, flowers and all creation. Her greatest joy was her family and ministry work.

Her memory will be cherished by her son, Tim J. Steffy and wife Jackie of Putneyville; her daughters, Patricia A. Johns and husband Eugene of Kittanning and Garnet G. Light and husband Robert of Palmyra; grandchildren, Michelle Cessna, Shawn Wadding and wife Alana, Michael Wadding and wife Shannon, Benjamin Steffy, Toby Steffy, Tanna Plummer and husband Kyle, Tyler Steffy and wife Celina, Stacy Martinez and husband Antonio, and Curt Pence and wife Lynda; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, William T. Steffy, whom she married on Dec. 7, 1945 and who passed away on Feb. 20, 2001; a son, Thomas E. Steffy; infant sons, Theodore A. Steffy and William C. Steffy; grandson, Matthew L. Schreckengost; brothers, Ralph Rupp and Robert Rupp; her sisters, Alda Long, Mable Whitacre, Edith McColgan, and Norma Marshall; and an infant sister, Mildred Rupp.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 528 Troy Hill Road, Kittanning, PA with Darryl Petrus officiating. For anyone unable to attend, you may join through zoom, ID: 837-7400-5084 Password: Steffy

Interment will be at the Emory Chapel Cemetery in Wayne Township, Armstrong County.
