Richard C. "Dick" Frye, 81, of Elderton, PA, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at his home.

He was born February 1, 1937 in Indiana, PA, the son of Clair J. and Iola G. (Clark) Frye.

Dick was a lifelong resident of Elderton and graduated from Elderton High School in 1955. He honorably served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. For over 60 years, Dick was the owner of Dick Frye Auto Body. He loved working on cars and taking car rides through the countryside. Dick's other passion was airplanes and he was a member of the Experiment Aircraft Association (EAA) in Johnstown. He enjoyed working on airplanes and was a certified aircraft inspector and maintenance technician.

Dick was a member of the Indiana Masonic Lodge and attended Elderton United Methodist Church. He took great care of his Irish Setters and looked forward to going on vacations and cruises with his wife, Sue. Dick will always be remembered for his willingness to help others.

His memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Suzanne F. (Shaw) Frye, whom he married April 14, 1973; nephews, Donald L. Frye and Daniel W. Frye, both of Shelocta; niece, Melissa A. McClafferty, of Shelocta; great-nephews, Trey M. Frye, of Shelocta, Brandon L. Frye, of Shelocta, Skyler T. Frye, of Kittanning, and Ashton W. McClafferty, of Shelocta; and brother-in-law, Charles P. Shaw, of Detroit, MI.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Leonard W. Frye.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM on Friday, November 30, 2018, at Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, 238 S. Main St., Elderton, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at the funeral home, with Pastor Sandy Peterman officiating. Following the service, military honors will be presented by the American Legion Honor Guard.

Interment will be in Elderton Cemetery, Elderton, PA.
