Rose Marie Salvo

Rose Marie Salvo, 82, of Rimersburg, PA, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at McKinley Health Center in Brookville.

She was born December 28, 1935 in NuMine, PA, the daughter of George W. and Catherine (Webster) Hartzell.

Rose Marie lived in Rimersburg for most of her life and was an active member of St. Richard's Roman Catholic Church where she taught CCD for many years. She worked as a telephone operator but was happiest when caring for her home and family. Rose Marie was a wonderful cook and was known for making delicious sauce. She also enjoyed tending to her flowers and houseplants, and had a deep love for music. Rose Marie was very artistic and painted the windows at Salvo Market and Shop 'n Save in New Bethlehem. She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and was a great friend to many, and those who knew her will never forget her sweet soul.

She will be remembered with love by her son, Angelo Salvo and wife, Nicole, of Rimersburg; daughters, Angela Marie McCanna and husband, Stephen, of Rimersburg, Vicki Jo Pitcher and husband, Timothy, of Newport, NC, and Jenny Lynn Nolf and husband, Gregory D., of Mayport; grandchildren, Leslie Kriebel and husband, Torrey, of Newport, NC, Stephanie Barkey and husband, Kevin, of Boardman, OH, Sondra Nolf and wife, Tabitha, of Frogtown, James Murray and wife, Jennifer, of Summerville, Patrick McCanna, of Rimersburg, Gregory Nolf, Jr. and wife, Jenna, of New Bethlehem, and Lukas and Sierra Salvo, both of Rimersburg; great-grandchildren, Mariah Roxbury, Paige Kriebel, Hunter Himes, Isabella Barkey, Kaylee Nolf, Sophia Barkey, Dylan Kriebel, Ella Nolf, Lily Murray, Anna Murray, Meah Murray, and Nora Nolf; brother, Robert Hartzell and wife, Pauline, of Jamestown, NY; and sister, Darlene Fetters and husband, Gerald, of Bellefonte.

Rose Marie was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Angelo Francis Salvo, whom she married April 26, 1958 and who died March 11, 2007; brother, George W. Hartzell, Jr.; and sisters, Arbutus Fitzgerald and Willamena Honkus.

Relatives and friends will be received from 6-9 PM on Thursday, November 1, 2018, at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 758 Main Street, Rimersburg.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of the blessing service at 11 AM on Friday, November 2, 2018, at the funeral home, with Pastor Robert Ryver officiating.

Entombment will be in Rimersburg Mausoleum, Rimersburg, PA.
